Participating teams will design and execute planned outreach activities that pilot sustainability initiatives and champion sustainability efforts in schools.
Students participating teams are strongly encouraged to be creators, connectors and contributors to design and implement their own community outreach activities.
There are 3 phases in SAC:
Phase One: Learn
All members of participating teams are strongly encouraged to sign up for and to attend the SAC Symposium on 11 March 2024.
Complementary training provided to the Symposium participants to equip them with requisite knowledge and skills to design their community outreach project or sustainability initiative.
Phase Two: Create
Teams will then collaborate to design their own authentic, interesting and engaging activities/initiatives to promote sustainable living and in doing so, they are able to reach out to as many members of the community (school / neighbourhood etc.)
Teams are strongly encouraged to attend an online Presentation-cum-Consultation session (optional) at a later date to showcase their advocacy plans to an expert panel for feedback.
Phase Three: Advocate
Teams will then execute their advocacy plans/ sustainability initiatives anytime from during the Term 1 Break (12 March 2024) to end of Term 3 break (8 September 2024).
Teams will need to submit a Final Report via FormSG that captures key details of their Advocacy plans /sustainability initiatives (planning stage to implementation stage, reflections etc) on 9 September 2024 (Term 4 Week 1).
For teams that successfully participated in the Advocacy Module, their achievements will be recognised during the SAC Award Ceremony (early November 2024).
Three categories of awards (Gold, Silver and Bronze) will be presented at the end of SAC to recognise the teams’ achievements.
Participation in the SAC may also be considered as part of the school’s contribution to efforts in environmental conservation when applying for the School Green Awards.
