LITE-UP 2023

 
 

LITE-UP is a yearly event organised by the Sustainable Singapore Gallery packed with exhibits, mission-based games, and activities. LITE-UP 2023 is the fifth iteration of the event, with this year’s theme focusing on transforming Singapore into an Energy-Lite city.

 
 
 

Objectives

  • Encourage and enable youths to mitigate and the challenges of non-renewable energy.

  • Inspire youths to take meaningful actions and act responsibly towards a more sustainable and energy-efficient world.

 
 
 
 
 

The Final Sanctum

In this adventure set in a world devastated by environmental destruction, you and your band of scavengers have a crucial mission ahead. With the guidance of the Mad Tinkerer, go on a quest to secure sustainable energy sources to revitalise your camp.

 

Tour In The Dark

1pm – 9pm

Take a Tour in the Dark at the Sustainable Singapore Gallery, and discover Singapore’s journey towards becoming a sustainable city, its strategies for addressing challenges such as climate change and waste management.

Visit the Makers’ Market to shop sustainably and be inspired to transform your life with unique finds such as carefully curated crafts and goods from around the region.

EcoLITE

Lite up your life by turning everyday materials into an LED flashlight!

Upcycled Cup Holder

Make your own upcycled cup holder using disused banners!

 

Hidden Messages

Leave a hidden message to a friend that will reveal itself when put over a flame!

Cup Pong Challenge

See how many bottle caps you can land in a row of cups and test your knowledge on sustainability. Answer correctly and win yourself a prize!

Level 2, COurtyard room

Melting Greenland

Climate activists and reporters visit Greenland to witness climate change effects, talk to locals and experts, and film melting ice sheets. This resulting film is a compelling plea to address the climate crisis.

  • Everyone is invited! You are more than welcome to attend and learn about how Singapore is transforming into an Energy-Lite City. There are activities for everyone!

  • Signing up in advance ensures you have a guaranteed spot for the Night at the Gallery activities (The Final Sanctum and Tour in the Dark).

  • Yes, you can! Please sign up separately for each activity and select different time slots. As there are limited slots, please ensure that you are able to attend the activities before signing up.

  • No signing up is required! Do note that they are only from 1PM – 5PM.

  • This adventure quest is expected to last an hour. There are 8 time slots, starting from 1PM.

  • The Tour in the Dark will take 15 minutes. There are 8 time slots, starting from 1PM.

 
 

About Sustainable Singapore Gallery

 
 

Located on the second floor of the Marina Barrage, the Sustainable Singapore Gallery is a modern and interactive gallery that provides an overview of Singapore’s sustainable development. This 1,618 square-metre gallery is organised into six zones, labelled Zone A to Zone F, each providing information about a different aspect of sustainability in Singapore.
