This competition creates a platform for youths to express their creativity/talent to raise awareness of environmental issues and sustainable solutions.

Winners of the competition will get the opportunity to implement winning designs/concepts in CapitaLand Ascendas REIT’s properties in Singapore and overseas.

CapitaLand Ascendas REIT is Singapore’s first and largest listed Business Space and Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). It owns more than 220 properties across three key segments, namely Business Space and Life Science; Logistics; and Industrial and Data Centres in Singapore, Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom/Europe.

Design of a Sustainability Corner

1. The Sustainability Corner is a physical installation/exhibition-type setup displaying content to raise awareness on climate change/sustainability issues among tenants and visitors to the properties. 

2. It is envisaged to be a collaborative showcase within each property on sustainability efforts by CapitaLand Ascendas REIT and its tenant(s), which aims to achieve the following:

a) Demonstrate joint commitment to stakeholders
b) Educate, encourage, and inspire employees, users/visitors to adopt sustainable practices

Sustainability Corner Dimensions 

Size of Sustainability Corner should not exceed following dimensions:
2m (W) x 2m (D) x 2m (H)

Qualifying Entrants

The competition is open to students (aged 15 to 35 years old) residing in Singapore and studying in local JC/Polytechnics, ITEs, and Universities/Colleges (including SOTA, LASALLE and NAFA) at the date of participation.

Phase 1: Design Submission

1. Submissions should include a word report that includes a short write-up of the design, reference images, and proposed sustainable materials.

2. Submissions should be in PDF format.

3. Submissions are to be submitted on the link provided on this site before 10 October 2022, 5pm.

Phase 2: Prototype Development

Shortlisted finalists will be working with an appointed vendor to develop a physical prototype of their designs. Do take note of the following:

1. The materials proposed in the design might not be 100% replicated in the prototype.

2. Production of the prototype will take approximately 2-6 weeks, depending on the complexity of the designs.

3. Shortlisted finalists will be required to be present during the prototype production, finals and prize-giving ceremony (taking place in October and November 2022).
   *Shortlisted finalists are required to present their ideas and prototype to the judging panel.

4. Shortlisted finalists will be notified latest by 14 October 2022.

REFERENCES

The Grand Prize Winners of the competition will get the opportunity to:

1. Work with CapitaLand Ascendas REIT to implement the winning designs in their properties.

2. Have the designs published on CapitaLand Ascendas REIT’s website /corporate reports.

3. Win up to $5000 worth of CapitaLand Vouchers. Note that the prizes are given in the form of eCapitaVouchers.
