Consisting of three different game variations from beginner to advanced, players can level up their carbon knowledge with each variation. With the intention of maximising enjoyment, the different variations will require you to compare, bluff, and reason about the carbon footprints of everyday actions and products. The more advanced the game variation you choose is, the more fun you’ll have while playing!
Learning Objectives
Increase carbon literacy
Encourage active recall of various carbon emissions
Test your knowledge of carbon footprints
Gain understanding of how different factors affect carbon emissions
More About Carbon
Carbon dioxide is integral to the balance of our environment. Too much or too little carbon dioxide in our atmosphere will lead to climate change, leaving a small margin in which the percentage of carbon dioxide needs to remain in.
Currently, our climate is heating up rapidly due to excessive amounts of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. While carbon dioxide is naturally produced through respiration, decomposition, and combustion of organic matter, the increase in carbon dioxide in the modern day is due to human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation. The heating effect of too much carbon dioxide causes habitat loss for many animals, resulting in a decline of biodiversity – ultimately leading to a disrupted ecosystem.
