Gather your family and friends to celebrate the nation’s 57th birthday! On 9 August 2022, join us at Marina Barrage as we celebrate Singapore’s sustainability journey, and learn more about how we can drive Singapore towards a greener future!

From a live broadcast of the National Day Parade, to our sustainable adventure trail ‘Eco Jalan’, to our ‘Green Bazaar’ sustainable lifestyle marketplace, there is something for every and anyone!

National Day Parade 2022 Live Screening @ Green Roof

Our live screening of the parade is finally back! Come early to reserve a good spot, and enjoy our other activities that are happening before catching the live screening!

 
Eco Jalan

1pm - 6pm
Hop onto ‘Eco Jalan’, our sustainable adventure trail themed around the Singapore Green Plan 2030! Many exciting and engaging activities are lined up for you to rejoice in our progress, and look forward to how we can create a greener and more sustainable future together!

In collaboration with Urban Origins, the Green Bazaar is a sustainable lifestyle marketplace where you can shop for sustainable products by local enterprises!

Upcycling Workshops

Join us in these kids-friendly upcycling workshops! Learn how you can turn unwanted items into useful daily items such as an upcycled mask holder, sachet yoyo, bottle cap keychain, and friendship band!

Station 1: Upcycled Coconut Husk Planter

Pillar: City in Nature
City in Nature is about creating a green, liveable and sustainable home for us!

Join us for a Coconut Husk Planter upcycling workshop! Turn disused coconut husks into  planters which are completely natural and biodegradable.

Station 2: Pick Up and Go

Pillar: Sustainable Living
Sustainable Living is about reducing the amount of resources we consume and the amount of waste we produce.

Are you a fast thinker? Challenge yourselves to differentiate recyclables and non-recyclables as quickly as possible!

Station 3: Upcycled  Merlion Tag

Pillar 3 Sustainable Living
Sustainable Living is about reducing the amount of resources we consume and the amount of waste we produce.

Instead of letting beverage cartons go to waste, why not make it into something functional? Join us in this workshop as we turn disused beverage cartons into functional, personalised tags!

 
 
 

Station 4: Green Scavenge

Pillar: Energy Reset
Energy Reset is about using cleaner energy and increasing our energy efficiency to lower our carbon footprint.

Did you know that one of Singapore’s largest collections of solar panels, the Solar Park, is located at Marina Barrage?

Join us in a scavenger hunt for various green features within Marina Barrage! Get your phone cameras ready; you’ll need to take photos with these green features as you embark on a journey to learn how to lower our carbon footprint by using cleaner energy and increasing our energy efficiency!

Station 5: Upcycled Firefly Circuit

Pillar: Energy Reset
Energy Reset is about using cleaner energy and increasing our energy efficiency to lower our carbon footprint.

Did you know that LED lighting is 90% more energy-efficient than incandescent light bulbs?

Join us as we create an upcycled firefly circuit with an energy-efficient LED light! Let us learn to switch to more sustainable choices in an effort to reduce our energy consumption!

 

Station 6: Game of CO2

Pillar: Green Economy
The Green Economy pillar aims to promote green careers!

Join us for a mini exhibition and quiz on carbon-enhanced greenhouse effect, and the effects of the carbon cycle and our carbon footprints!

 
 
 

Station 7: Upcycled Eco-Enzymes

Pillar: Resilient Future
The Resilient Future pillar aims to make our nation more resilient to future challenges, as well as make it more self-sustainable!

Food waste is one of the top three wastes generated in Singapore. Instead of having food waste end up in our landfills, we can use food scraps to create our own Eco-Enzymes!

Station 8: 30-by-30 Quiz

Pillar: Resilient Future
The Resilient Future pillar aims to make our nation more resilient to future challenges, as well as make it more self-sustainable!

Learn more about food security through videos produced by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), accompanied with engaging quizzes!
