The Sustainable Singapore Gallery's Out Of The Blue event is a hive of activities from games to workshops on upcycling! With this event, we hope to raise awareness of the marine life that exists in the waters surrounding Singapore and how we can improve these waters.

 
 

Objectives

 
  • Endorse life below water

  • Educate people on Singapore’s surrounding water system and the importance of water

  • Highlight the issue oF water pollution by plastic materials

  • Encourage people to upcycle reusable waste

 
 

Ocean Odyssey

Venue: Sustainable Singapore Gallery, Level 2

Visit the Sustainable Singapore Gallery where a series of fun activities will present you with a glimpse of life underwater!

Ocean Encounter

Discover various marine creatures and plants through an Augmented Reality (AR) experience!


Water Warriors

Singapore is known to be one of the most water-stressed countries. Find out more about the Singapore Water Story!


Ocean Clean-Up

"Blow up" and get rid of harmful pollutants from the ocean in this game!


Ocean Invaders

With plastic pollution on the rise, many animals — and even human health — are being affected. Learn how to protect our oceans from plastic pollutants through this activity!


Trash to Treasure

Single-use PET water bottles are regularly discarded after use. Discover another use for these bottles through a fun workshop!

Storytime for Children by Swee Yean - A Crab, A Shell and A Little Help

2PM - 2:30pm | 2:30PM - 3PM

Venue: Sustainable Singapore Gallery Screening Room, Level 2

Join us for an interactive storytelling performance about a hermit crab embarking on a journey to find a new shell. Along the way, it encounters pollution! What will it do? Explore how our actions affect the environment and how you can help! Suitable for ages 4 to 9.

 
 
 

Mimic Kai the Turtle

Venue: Outside Sustainable Singapore Gallery, Level 2

Transform ordinary waste into works of art and uncover your creativity with Untrash! Check out the upcycling stations and explore how you can incorporate upcycling habits to repurpose everyday items.



Eggshell Art

Do you remember making coloured sand art at the mall? Now you can have a go at using coloured eggshells to produce a similar type of artwork!


Coconut Husk Planter

Learn a different way to plant your plants - with a coconut husk planter!


Coffee Grounds Painting

Bring out the hidden artist in you by creating an art piece using paint made from coffee grounds.


Upcycled Plastic Bottle Flower

Showcase your innovative and artistic talent by transforming used plastic bottles into decorative flowers.

Located on the second floor of the Marina Barrage, the Sustainable Singapore Gallery is a modern and interactive gallery that provides an overview of Singapore’s sustainable development. This 1,618 square-metre gallery is organised into six zones, labelled Zone A to Zone F, each providing information about a different aspect of sustainability in Singapore.
