EcoBytes Ep 1 - Sustainable Skincare ft. Fawn Labs and SusGain

Want to learn more about sustainability from local businesses and communities? Or want to learn simple tips and tricks that you can use to live more sustainably? Whether you’re new to sustainability or a seasoned eco warrior, the Sustainable Singapore Gallery’s new series of FREE online events, EcoBytes, was made just for you!

Featuring a new format, exciting workshops and conversations with the local sustainability community, this EcoBytes series will provide you with easy sustainable lifestyle tips in a succinct hour-long programme!

In this first episode, we met with the founders of two sustainable local businesses: Carolin Barr from SusGain, a sustainable lifestyle application, and Hann Chia from Fawn Labs, a company that produces clean beauty products.

Through a vivid conversation, we discovered the motivations for these adventurous entrepreneurs to start up their own businesses. We also learnt of the challenges that they faced and the importance of empowering one another to live sustainably.

Following the discussion, we learned two hacks to creatively reuse food waste: transforming avocados into a skin exfoliant and converting teabags into under-eye masks. On top of that, we also learned how to make our own facial wash using sustainable ingredients. With some creative ideas and knowledge of the waste we throw away, going more sustainable is definitely well within our grasp!
