EcoBytes 2.0 Ep 5: Coming Full Circle II

Do you know what plays a crucial role in the global supply chain, so widely used that it is practically invisible? It's pallet wood! With the high volume of usage every day, it is not surprising that pallet wood faces a high damage rate. Many of them are disposed of when they fail to meet the high safety standards, which creates a huge amount of waste! How can we cut down such waste and give these woods a chance of rebirth?

In a brand new episode of the newly revamped Sustainable Singapore Gallery’s online event series EcoBytes, we speak to Rachel, Project Executive at CREUSE, a sustainable brand by XCEL Industrial Supplies. Join us as we explore more about how XCEL Industrial Supplies and CREUSE give these reclaimed woods a chance of rebirth by repairing and upcycling!

Also, stay tuned for the hands-on workshop, where you can learn how to upcycle reclaimed pallet wood into a storage crate!

Threat That Threads Exhibition

The Sustainable Singapore Gallery and students from Temasek Polytechnic have once again come together to show how zero-waste fashion can be attained through the use of sustainable materials and practices in our latest exhibition on sustainable fashion: Threat that Threads!

Fashion in current times is intentionally priced cheaply and designed to be consumed quickly, leading shoppers to view clothes as being disposable. This depletes the earth’s natural resources at exponential rates, exploits workers around the world, and results in an overwhelming amount of waste!

How can we eliminate waste in the fashion industry? What can businesses, and consumers like you and I, do to be more fashion sustainable?

Visit this exhibition today at the Sustainable Singapore Gallery to learn more about sustainable fashion and what the students from Temasek Polytechnic have to offer! Pre-register your visit at www.tinyurl.com/book-ssg-tour! Let’s help the environment together, no matter how small our actions might be! See you there!!
